Short answer
Yes. You can take the CAPM online with a Pearson VUE remote proctor, or in person at a Pearson VUE test center.

Online candidates see comic-strip questions but no animation questions, which the CAPM ECO says is to avoid sound issues.

Switching, languages and fees
You can change delivery type after booking. PMI’s handbook says to cancel the current appointment and choose the other type when you reschedule, and the usual timing applies: free more than 30 days out, $70 plus tax inside 30 days (U.S. pricing), no changes inside 48 hours (PMI Certification Handbook, checked October 30, 2026). The exam is the same three hours either way; only the commute changes.
The CAPM is offered in English, Arabic, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Chinese (Simplified) and Chinese (Traditional). Translated exams have an on-screen button that shows each question in English (PMI Certification Handbook, checked October 30, 2026).
The fee does not change with the delivery mode; amounts are on CAPM exam cost, and you book either kind after the steps on how to apply for the CAPM.
Before you book the online slot
- Read Pearson VUE’s online proctoring requirements for your computer, connection and room. They are Pearson VUE’s rules, and they change; this site does not restate them.
- Check that your citizenship is not one PMI excludes from online delivery: mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.
- Expect comic strips and no animations in the item mix.
- Know the break rule before the day; it is the same online. The full format is on CAPM questions and time.
- Run one long session at the desk you will test from; the timed sprint works in any browser.
- Pick a date more than 30 days out if you want to keep moving it for free.
